Primary Purpose Of The Position

Food Bank for New York City’s truck drivers are reliable and dependable, representing the Food Bank in a courteous and professional manner while on the road and in dealings with member agencies, partners, suppliers, and donors. Our drivers are expected to use tact and diplomacy in all interactions with partners, team members, and leadership.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up produce, frozen, and dry food products to member agencies, suppliers, donors, and other locations as assigned.
• Assist in loading trailers with materials.
• Unload trailers using forklifts or hand trucks.
• Transport loads over designated routes to proper destinations.
• Obtain shipping bills and necessary signatures.
• Return completed paperwork to the warehouse.
• Remove empty pallets from trailers and carry them to designated areas.
• Perform routine vehicle checks such as oil, water, gasoline, and tire pressure.
• Perform other warehouse duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.
• Maintain reliable and regular attendance.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license – CLASS B CDL.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to pass a background check.
