Job summary

Watkins Distributing is seeking a dedicated delivery driver to manage local routes within Idaho and Montana. You will perform pre-trip inspections, deliver safely, and verify orders with customers. The role requires climbing, lifting, and operation of pallet jacks, with a 4x10-hour shift schedule.

Preferred candidates have prior delivery experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL and medical card. Training on handheld route devices is provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform a pre-trip inspection of the vehicle and equipment.
• Deliver to customers within the assigned route safely and efficiently.
• Unload product using a pallet jack or hand truck.
• Confirm deliveries with store personnel and check in merchandise on arrival.
• Verify order accuracy by quantities and customer signatures.
• Stock cooler and shelves per merchandising guidelines.
• Rotate stock according to freshness guidelines.
• Collect returns and file daily route paperwork.
• Maintain communication with sales reps and account contacts.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

Drivers handle local delivery within an assigned territory, making sure products reach customers safely, accurately, and professionally.

The work schedule is 4 x 10 hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a pre-trip inspection of the assigned vehicle and equipment.
• Operate the designated delivery route safely and efficiently while following all DOT regulations and applicable traffic laws.
• Unload product from trailers using a pallet jack and/or hand truck.
• Confirm deliveries with store personnel and check in all merchandise upon arrival.
• Verify order accuracy by checking quantities and obtaining customer signatures.
• Stock cooler space, shelf space, and promotional displays at each account.
• Rotate stock according to company freshness and merchandising guidelines.
• Collect empty keg shells, damaged goods, and incorrectly ordered items for return credit.
• Gather invoices and complete all required daily route paperwork.
• Stay in close communication with sales representatives and retail account contacts.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

• Previous delivery driving experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record and no major traffic violations.
• Able to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL along with a valid medical card.
• Able to safely handle a fully loaded hand truck.
• Comfortable operating handheld computers and route management devices.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Must be able to routinely lift and move beverage cases weighing 20–30 lbs., and lift up to 160 lbs. to waist height. The role requires frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and standing for long periods.
• Work is carried out independently while serving multiple retail accounts each day.
• Must be able to operate delivery vehicles safely across varying weather and road conditions.
