Job summary

Watkins Distributing is seeking a reliable local delivery driver to handle daytime routes across Idaho. You will safely deliver beverages, verify orders, and maintain accurate paperwork.

The role requires a valid license, clean driving record, and the ability to operate a hand truck and pallet jack. A Class A CDL may be preferred but is not always required for entry-level drivers.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with clean record; no major violations.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Class A CDL and medical card.
• Experience with pallet jack/hand truck and safe driving practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspection.
• Operate delivery route safely, following DOT regulations and traffic laws.
• Unload products using pallet jack/hand truck.
• Confirm deliveries with store personnel; check in merchandise.
• Verify order accuracy with signatures and quantities.
• Stock and rotate products at accounts, manage shelf space.
• Collect empty shells and damaged items for return credit.
• Gather invoices and complete daily route paperwork.
• Communicate with sales reps and retail contacts.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Who We Are:

Watkins Distributing is a family-owned and family-operated beverage distribution company that has proudly served communities across Idaho and Montana for four generations.

Job Summary:

Drivers handle local delivery within an assigned territory, making sure products reach customers safely, accurately, and professionally.

The work schedule is 4 x 10 hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a pre-trip inspection of the assigned vehicle and equipment.
• Operate the designated delivery route safely and efficiently while following all DOT regulations and applicable traffic laws.
• Unload product from trailers using a pallet jack and/or hand truck.
• Confirm deliveries with store personnel and check in all merchandise upon arrival.
• Verify order accuracy by checking quantities and obtaining customer signatures.
• Stock cooler space, shelf space, and promotional displays at each account.
• Rotate stock according to company freshness and merchandising guidelines.
• Collect empty keg shells, damaged goods, and incorrectly ordered items for return credit.
• Gather invoices and complete all required daily route paperwork.
• Stay in close communication with sales representatives and retail account contacts.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills & Abilities:

• Previous delivery driving experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record and no major traffic violations.
• Able to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL along with a valid medical card.
• Able to safely handle a fully loaded hand truck.
• Comfortable operating handheld computers and route management devices.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Must be able to routinely lift and move beverage cases weighing 20-30 lbs., and lift up to 160 lbs. to waist height. The role requires frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and standing for long periods.
• Work is carried out independently while serving multiple retail accounts each day.
• Must be able to operate delivery vehicles safely across varying weather and road conditions.
