Job summary

Patton Sales Corp in Ontario, CA is seeking a Driver to support our Steel and Tools department. The role handles daily deliveries and pickups, ensuring on-time service and accurate paperwork.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to lift heavy loads, maintain a clean driving record, and operate yard equipment including forklift operations. Monday through Friday with Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications

• Heavy lifting and loading/unloading required.
• Must maintain a good driving record and forklift certification; knowledge of yard equipment operations.

Responsibilities

• Load merchandise for day\'s deliveries with yard personnel, secure in the truck and verify paperwork.
• Greet destination contact, verify COD payment, and note issues for supervisor.
• Maintain contact with manager about delays or problems for assistance.
• Maintain the vehicle daily with the check list and report mechanical issues.
• Turn in paperwork to supervisor promptly and neatly, noting discrepancies.
• Assist in yard operations as needed or when requested.

Position Summary: To complete all scheduled deliveries and pickups in a professional and timely manner. Communicate with manager all potential problems.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Loads merchandise for days deliveries with help yard personnel, tied down and safely loaded in the truck. Verifies that all pieces are included and that loaded items match paperwork.
• Greets contact at destination, verifies COD payment. Maintains courteous attitude throughout delivery. Make notes of any problems or discrepancies with delivery, and informs supervisor of same.
• Keeps in contact with manager during the day on any delays/problems for assistance.
• Maintains vehicle daily per check list and advises manager of any mechanical problems needing attention..
• Turns in paperwork to supervisor in prompt and neat manner, covering any discrepancies or problems/ concerns.
• Assists in the yard as necessary or when requested.

Days/Hours:Monday thru Friday mornings, Saturdays as required.

Special equipment/requirements: Must maintain good driving record, forklift certification, knowledge/operations of cutting and processing equipment in yard.
