Job description

Overview

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Truck Drivers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Class A commercial driving with touch freight experience and will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and adherence to all transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities: The incumbent is responsible for transporting and delivering freight to franchise stores and/or production kitchens safely, legally, and on time. This position involves working in environments with varying temperatures and humidity levels (e.g., dry, cooler, and freezer areas of the trailer, along with changing outdoor weather conditions).

Location: Burleson, TX

Pay Rate: $35.87/hr

Schedule: 7 days per week

Dispatch Time: Between 2:00 am - 4:00 am

Responsibilities
  1. Operate a tractor-trailer truck transporting products to and from designated destinations.
  2. Conduct proper pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
  3. Ensure all delivery-related paperwork is complete before departing.
  4. Prepare and provide necessary documentation for deliveries.
  5. Unload cargo safely using hand trucks or pallet jacks into store locations.
  6. Scan product labels during deliveries and report any shortages or damages.
  7. Maintain logs of travel and cargo according to federal, state, and DOT regulations.
  8. Communicate any delivery issues or delays with NDCP’s Member Services team.
  9. Keep the interior of the truck clean and remove delivery-related trash at delivery sites.
  10. Perform post-trip inspections and report any vehicle issues.
  11. Represent NDCP professionally as the main contact between the distribution center and customers.
  12. Train and work with a Delivery Assistant to ensure efficient and safe deliveries.

Supervision Exercised: No direct supervisory responsibilities but may direct a Delivery Assistant.

Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record and a minimum of 6 months driving experience (1 year preferred).
  3. Current DOT Medical Certification Card and passing DOT pre-employment requirements.
  4. Ability to lift, tug, and pull over 50 lbs and operate hand trucks or pallet jacks.
  5. Dependable attendance and excellent customer service skills.
  6. If applicable, ability to operate a 10-speed manual transmission.
  7. Ability to operate a lift gate and refrigeration unit.
  8. Register with the Clearinghouse.
