Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Class B CDL Driver in Gaithersburg, MD to deliver equipment safely and on time. You will operate trucks, ensure safety and customer service, and serve as a company ambassador with the benefit of being home every night.

This safety-sensitive role requires DOT-compliant driving, pre-trip inspections, and dedication to excellent service. The compensation range is posted, and the company offers comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with acceptable driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years DOT regulated Commercial Driving Experience.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures.
• Diligent attention to safety.

Responsibilities

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers.
• Operate heavy equipment such as semi-trucks and trailers (CDL-B).
• Adhere to all safety requirements including FMCSA regulations.
• Maintain driver's logs and complete pre-trip inspections.
• Suggest equipment and supplies to meet customers' needs.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.

What you'll do:

• Drop off and pick up equipment for customers
• Operate heavy equipment such as semi-trucks and trailers ('rollbacks' or 'dove tails') consistent with DOT classification CDL-B
• Adhere to all safety requirements particular to equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
• Maintain driver's logs and complete pre-trip inspections
• Suggest equipment and supplies to meet customers' other needs
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

• Valid Class B CDL with acceptable driving record
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years DOT regulated Commercial Driving Experience
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safe driving procedures
• Diligent attention to safety
