POSITION SUMMARY: A Relief Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. Additionally, a Relief Driver – CDL (B) ensures vehicle compliance with safety standards before operation, adheres to all safety and regulatory requirements, and completes vehicle condition reports daily to address any defects.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle, including tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls; report safety issues.
2. Safely operate the truck along the designated route and to the disposal site, following route sheets and maps, and service each customer as assigned.
3. Operate manual and/or automatic controls for lifting, loading refuse, operating the compactor, and disposing of materials at the designated facility.
4. Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely and professional service.
5. Identify unsatisfactory waste containers, tag them per departmental procedures, and monitor waste for unacceptable waste.
6. Clean around waste spills, adhering to safety standards.
7. Monitor vehicle condition to ensure operational readiness, clean waste from the packer blade and truck body as needed.
8. Complete route/productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other required documentation.
9. Maintain productivity standards and follow safety policies and procedures.
10. Participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
