The Direct Store Delivery Class A Relief Driver makes an impact by:
  • Arriving at the specified daily scheduled starting time.
  • Driving the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner per established Fleet Safety guidelines.
  • Loading and unloading product as required and responsible for proper placement of delivered products. Rotating products when necessary.
  • Completing an inventory of designated products for customers.
  • Completing and returning all necessary paperwork, including proof of deliveries, credit memos, and route summaries.
  • Communicating customer concerns to the Team Leader/Supervisor.
  • Maintaining professional relationships with customers.
  • Reviewing customer orders and verifying invoices and delivered products for accuracy.
  • Collecting payments for deliveries when required and submitting all payments to the Route Settlement Office.
  • Ensuring cargo area is at proper temperature.
  • Being available for varied scheduled work hours as assigned.
  • Wearing only authorized uniforms during working hours.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping in the truck cab and cargo area.
  • Reporting mechanical issues to the Garage department, completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and fueling the vehicle as needed.
  • Maintaining Electronic Logging Device (ELD) logs and adhering to hours of service regulations.
  • Performing duties in compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including GMP and FSMA guidelines.
  • Supporting the development and improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) standards.
  • Engaging in cross-functional teams for process improvements that add value to customers.
  • Being accountable to Turkey Hill's Food Safety and Quality Principles.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands:

The physical requirements for a DOT job, especially for drivers, include:

  • Good overall health, free from conditions impairing safe driving.
  • At least 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, and a field of vision of at least 70 degrees.
  • Ability to perceive a whisper at 5 feet, with or without hearing aids.
  • Blood pressure and pulse within normal ranges.
  • Ability to walk, bend, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel daily.
  • Passing pre-employment drug screening and random tests.

Additional physical requirements include:

  • Talking and hearing in noisy environments (PPE required).
  • Wearing mandated PPE.
  • Standing and walking for 8+ hours.
  • Climbing stairs and performing related tasks.
  • Moving, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed.
  • Inspecting equipment and operating tools and machinery.
  • Vision for close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
  • Ability to lift and push/pull 50 pounds regularly.
