POSITION SUMMARY: A Driver - CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver must ensure their vehicle complies with safety standards, adhere to all regulations, and complete daily vehicle condition reports to address any defects.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls; report safety issues accordingly.
2. Safely operate the truck along designated routes, following route sheets or instructions from dispatchers or supervisors.
3. Operate controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of waste at designated facilities.
4. Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues to ensure timely service.
5. Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers as per departmental procedures.
6. Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and manage waste spills safely.
7. Maintain vehicle readiness by monitoring its condition, cleaning waste from the packer blade and truck body as needed.
8. Complete route/productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other required documentation.
9. Meet productivity standards and follow safety policies and procedures.
10. Participate in the company's ReSOP safety program.
11. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating professionalism and trustworthiness, with good time management and adherence to company policies.

Minimum Requirements
