Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. is hiring a CDL Class A Driver – Roll Off Driver to operate diesel trucks and trailers in outdoor settings. The role requires safe, compliant driving, accurate paperwork, and strong customer service as you transport steel products to customers and suppliers.

The position emphasizes attention to detail, ability to follow directions, and professionalism while working across varied weather conditions in a client-facing capacity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Class A CDL required; Tanker and HazMat endorsements are a plus.
• Experience with large mobile equipment or hauling vehicles is preferred.
• Knowledge of traffic regulations and load restrictions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate diesel straight trucks and tractor/trailers (roll-off, dump, and van trailers).
• Pickup and deliver steel products and materials to suppliers and customers.
• Follow procedures while ensuring DOT compliance.
• Read and work from invoices, shipping tickets, and electronic instructions.
• Maintain driver logs, trip reports, and inspection reports.
• Assist with loading/unloading, secure loads properly, and ensure safe transport.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and vendors.
• Perform routine vehicle cleaning and basic upkeep.

$28.41/hr starting wage

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or GED preferredValidClass A CDL(Tanker and HazMat endorsements are a plus)
• Minimum of9 months experienceoperating large mobile equipment or hauling vehicles
• Comfort usingsmartphone/GPS technology
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office; SAP experience is an asset)

What You’ll Do

• Exposure to normal driving conditions including noise, vibration, and fumes
