Job summary

Royal Hawaiian Movers is seeking a professional CDL A driver based in Honolulu, HI. You will perform vehicle inspections, handle cargo loading, routing, and daily maintenance while ensuring safety and compliance with DOT rules.

You must have Hazmat and TWIC, a clean driving record, and be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test. Competitive benefits and local port duties may apply.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections for safety and compliance.
• Maintain daily truck maintenance and fueling.
• Report damages or injuries promptly.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent damage or injuries.
• Load and unload cargo as required; communicate professionally with customers.
• Follow DOT rules and company safety policies; maintain paperwork accurately.

Job description

• Perform both pre-and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in compliance and safe to operate.
• Performing daily maintenance of truck (Refueling, cleaning etc.)
• Report all damages and/ or injuries in a timely manner.
• Ensuring that the truck always has sufficient fuel.
• Proper securement of the cargo load to prevent damages and/or injuries.
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions.
• Load and unload Cargo (If applicable)
• Communicate professionally with customers and co-workers.
• Adhere/follow ALL company "Safety" practices, policies, and procedures, including DOT requirements.
• Adhere to company rules and regulations.
• Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, compliance and deliver as instructed.
• Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy.
• Follow directions and open communication with supervisors, dispatcher(s) and customers.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
• Always make safety a priority.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a current Commercial Driver's license (CDL) Class A
• (H) Hazmat endorsements and TWIC card is required.
• Driver history must consist of No violations, at-fault accidents, or traffic-related convictions within 3 years.
• No DUI/DWI convictions.
• 3-5 years of local port drivingexperience.
• A current DHR from the DMV is a must.
• Ability to drive safely irrespective of the weather or time of day.
• Must be able to pass and complete a pre-employment DOT physical exam & drug test (to include marijuana, medical marijuana, and THC) and to obtain a Medical Card as required by the DOT.
• Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems.
• High level of composure and good stress management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
• Enter and exit equipment by stepping and kneeling.
• Crouch and squat for the pre & port inspections
