Job summary

Sanborn Iron & Metals in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Class A CDL Driver for local hauls with home every night. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday with competitive hourly pay and family-owned company values.

You will load and unload as needed, inspect loads, tarp trucks, and perform basic maintenance while adhering to DOT requirements and maintaining a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL License valid for local hauls.
• Air brake endorsement required.
• Clean driving record and DOT compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical duties.
• Experience with basic vehicle maintenance or light repairs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate company trucks for local pickups and deliveries of recyclable scrap metal.
• Assist with loading and unloading when needed.
• Inspect loads and tarp trucks securely.
• Perform basic maintenance and pre-trip inspections.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

• Operate company trucks to pick up and deliver recyclable scrap metal materials
• Assist with loading and unloading when needed
• Inspect loads and tarp trucks safely
• Perform basic maintenance and pre-trip inspections
• Complete additional duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Class A CDL License (manual transmission preferred but not required)
• Air brake endorsement required
• Clean driving record
• Able to work in seasonal weather conditions
• Reliable, safety-focused, and physically capable of lifting heavy items and climbing trailers
• Experience with preventive maintenance or light repairs a plus
• Must meet DOT requirements
