Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a CDL Class A Driver for home daily shifts in Council Bluffs, IA. The Fri-Mon schedule from 1:30pm to 12:00am ensures daily home time while supporting local deliveries.

You will operate a 26 ft box truck (and occasionally a 53-ft trailer), perform pre-trip inspections, and coordinate with dispatch to keep goods moving safely and on time.

Qualifications

• 6 months CDL experience operating the same type of equipment or larger in the last 3 years.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• A current valid (CDL A) driver’s license and an acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 26 ft box truck (and occasionally a 53-ft tractor-trailer) on local routes.
• Touch freight as required and maintain safe driving practices.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and communicate with dispatch to ensure on-time deliveries.

Pay rates starting at $29.00 and $1.50-2.50/hr shift differential per hour plus overtime pay available after 40 worked hours per week.

About the role

As a CDL Driver, you’ll not only drive our equipment, but you’ll also drive our success! You’ll play a key role in ensuring safe, on-time delivery of goods for our customers, running local routes that get you home daily. Responsible for safely transporting materials between company facilities and ensuring timely, accurate movement of products and equipment to support daily operations.

What you’ll do on a typical day

• Primarily operate a 26 foot box truck, with occasional operation of a 53-ft tractor-trailer, in and around the site and on public roads.
• Touch freight position
• Drive safely and adhere to all safety policies and practices
• Perform routine inspections
• Communicate effectively with dispatch

What you’ll need to succeed at GXO

At a minimum you’ll need:

• 6 months of Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) experience operating the same type of equipment needed for this position, or larger, in the last 3 years
• Must be at least 21 years old
• A current valid (CDL A) driver’s license and an acceptable MVR

It’d be great if you also have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience moving multiple types of trailers (tanks, vans, flatbeds)
