Job summary

Fajita Pete’s is seeking a friendly Driver / Cashier to provide excellent service inside the restaurant and during deliveries. This fast-paced role blends cashier duties with delivery and catering support to ensure every order is accurate and customers leave satisfied.

Driver / Cashier

Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Position Summary

The Driver / Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service both inside the restaurant and while making deliveries.

This is a fast-paced, customer-facing position that combines cashier responsibilities with delivery and catering support. Driver/Cashiers help ensure every customer receives the correct order, friendly service, and an excellent Fajita Pete’s experience.

What You’ll Do

Cashier & Customer Service

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take customer orders accurately in person and over the phone.
• Enter orders correctly into the POS system.
• Process cash and credit/debit card transactions.
• Answer customer questions about menu items, catering, and ordering.
• Verify orders for accuracy before they leave the restaurant.
• Package and organize takeout and delivery orders.
• Keep the front counter, lobby, beverage, and pickup areas clean and organized.
• Assist with side work, restocking, and cleaning during slower periods.

Delivery & Catering

• Deliver customer and catering orders safely and on time.
• Verify every delivery before leaving the restaurant, including food, drinks, tortillas, sides, utensils, serving supplies, and other requested items.
• Load and transport orders carefully to maintain food quality and presentation.
• Follow delivery instructions and confirm the correct delivery location.
• Provide professional and friendly service when interacting with customers.
• Assist with setting up catering orders when required.
• Obtain signatures, receipts, or other delivery documentation when necessary.
• Communicate immediately with the restaurant if there is a delivery delay or customer issue.
• Safely return catering equipment or supplies when assigned.

Driver Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Reliable transportation.
• Current automobile insurance as required by law and company policy.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a vehicle and follow all traffic laws.
• Ability to use GPS/navigation applications.
• Must meet all company age and driving eligibility requirements.

Every Delivery: Check Before You Leave

Before leaving the restaurant, confirm:

• Correct customer and delivery address
• Correct food and quantities
• Tortillas
• Sides and toppings
• Chips and salsa/queso when ordered
• Drinks when ordered
• Utensils, napkins, plates, and serving supplies when required
• Catering equipment or setup items when applicable
• Receipt and any special customer instructions

Never assume an order is complete—verify it before leaving.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently enter and exit a vehicle.
• Ability to bend, reach, and carry delivery bags and catering equipment.
• Ability to safely lift and carry approximately 25–50 pounds.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
