Job summary

Performance Foodservice in the United States is seeking a Driver Helper to support our delivery operations and be the face of the company with customers. You will accompany Drivers on intrastate and interstate routes, assist with loading, and ensure deliveries arrive on time and in good condition.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, ability to pass a post-offer drug test and background check, and availability for full-time shifts.

Responsibilities

Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers! As a Driver Helper, you will assist the Driver in every aspect of the product delivery to our customers.

Primary Responsibilities

The Driver Helper rides with and assist Drivers in the tractor trailer, tandem trailer and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading various products in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
