Position Overview: Through education and driving skills development, become proficient in the operation of a tractor trailer combination. Responsibilities include non-driving duties such as forklift operation and working the dock.

Essential Functions:

1. Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles and/or straight trucks
2. Perform safety inspections on equipment
3. Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies
4. Handle freight using appropriate equipment
5. Secure freight inside trailers
6. Recoup/repair damaged freight
7. Complete required documentation
8. Maintain freight charge documentation
9. Follow hazardous material regulations
10. Communicate with Dispatch and customers
11. Provide customer service and gather leads
12. Perform duties of a road driver or freight handler as needed
13. Chain vehicle tires as required
14. Comply with laws and company policies
15. Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

1. Possess a class A CDL or permit
2. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
3. Meet DOT requirements
4. Basic math skills
5. Good communication skills
6. Ability to lift and handle heavy freight
7. Physical ability to sit, bend, climb, and perform related tasks
8. Follow instructions and complete training
9. Work independently or in a team

Working Conditions:

1. Drive in all weather conditions
2. Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and hazards
3. Hours vary based on operational needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Pay Range: $24.89 - $29.66 per hour. Starting at $24.89/hour. Benefits include health, vision, dental, 401(k), bonuses, and more.
