Job summary

Waste Management is seeking a Driver Apprentice who, after receiving a Commercial Driving Permit, will complete required training to safely operate a commercial vehicle serving customers in the assigned line of business. The role continues until all training requirements are fulfilled.

Working with a WM Driver/Trainer, you will learn to perform inspections, follow safety rules, and help improve route efficiencies while maintaining customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public and complete records.
• Commercial or Non-commercial Driver's License Class C or D.

Responsibilities

• Train with a WM Driver/Trainer after earning permit to safely operate a refuse/recycling vehicle.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report issues to supervision.
• Follow safety rules and DOT regulations; complete end-of-day documentation.
• Assist with route efficiencies and communicate customer requests to Dispatch.
