Details:

The Driver & Warehouse Assistant is responsible for the safe and proper loading, delivery, and unloading of goods, including handling hazardous materials with specific precautions. The role involves managing logistics related to receiving, processing, storing, and dispatching inventory according to purchase orders and shipping schedules.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan and follow the most efficient routes for deliveries.
2. Load items for delivery in accordance with the planned route.
3. Obtain signatures and payments, and coordinate with recipients for payments.
4. Perform routine maintenance on delivery vehicles, such as monitoring and replenishing fluids.
5. Leave verbal messages via telephone as needed.
6. Maintain positive relations with customers.
7. Deliver to and pick up from area customers.
8. Complete all required paperwork thoroughly.
9. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000 standards.
10. Assist the warehouse manager with related warehouse duties.

Education/Training:

• High School diploma or equivalent required; an associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
• Ability to operate communication devices such as cellphones and laptops.
• Working knowledge of standard shop tools.
• Possession or ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL C) with hazardous materials endorsement.
• Forklift certification or willingness to train.
• Experience or training in reach truck operation.
• Safety training for spill containment; OSHA certification is a plus.
• Valid and current driver's license with a clean MVR in the applicable state.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and see clearly.
• Capability to walk, stand, and climb as needed.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Finger dexterity for data entry using keyboards, tablets, or calculators.
• Ability to load and unload trucks and vehicles.
• Use of forklift to move pallets and large items from warehouse to trucks.

Pay: $26 - $28/hr
