Job summary

Oliver Gospel Mission Inc is seeking a Part-Time Driver and Logistics Associate in Columbia, SC. You will safely drive donation vehicles, inspect and pickup donations from the public, and coordinate transfers with the Hope Center and Thrift Store across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, approve and schedule donation pickups with the public using the provided software.
  • Coordinate with Program and Facility Managers for mission pickups and deliveries.
  • Communicate with Thrift Store manager, processing team and donors about pickup schedules, routes and donation details.
  • Capture donor information in Thrifttrac and maintain a pickup log.
  • Transport, unload, and deliver items safely to prevent damage or loss.
  • Follow truck safety and store policies for loading/unloading.
  • Provide excellent donor/customer service and explain the mission impact.

Job Title: Driver and Logistics Associate

Position Summary

The Driver and Logistics Associate supports Oliver Gospel’s mission by being responsible for safely and effectively driving and operating Oliver Gospel donation vehicles. This position will handle the day-to-day logistics of inspecting, communicating and picking up donations from the public while also coordinating with the Hope Center and Thrift Store to transport donations to and from multiple sites.

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for receiving, approving and scheduling donation pickups with the public using the software provided
  • Responsible for coordinating with the Program and Facility Managers to coordinate mission pickups and deliveries
  • Communicate effectively with the Thrift Store manager, processing team and donors to exchange information regarding pick up schedules, routes and donation details
  • Responsible for capturing donor information into Thrifttrac to ensure donor information is correct and updated
  • Recording and maintaining a pickup log of all donations and deliveries
  • Navigate routes using GPS systems adjusting plans as necessary due to traffic, weather conditions or road closures to ensure the most efficient trip
  • Transporting, unloading and delivering items in a safe and secure manner to prevent damage, spoilage or loss
  • Follow best practices and store policies on truck safety both on the road and during loading/unloading
  • Provide excellent customer service to all donors and partners, sharing the mission of Oliver Gospel and the impact of their partnership
  • Provide Training to the OG Works participants according to the OG Works program in driving and logistics.
  • Preparing, operating and inspecting vehicles associated with pickup and delivery
  • Communicate effectively with the Thrift Store manager, processing team and donors to exchange information regarding pick up schedules, routes and donation details
  • Navigate routes using GPS systems adjusting plans as necessary due to traffic, weather conditions or road closures to ensure the most efficient trip
  • Assist in processing, opening / closing procedures and store cleanliness
  • Attend meetings and events as determined by the supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
