Job summary

Cedarbrook Senior Living in Bloomfield Hills, MI, seeks a full-time Driver/Activities Coordinator to support residents’ mobility and engagement, coordinating transportation and activities to enhance quality of life.

The role requires a current chauffeur license, an AA degree or equivalent, 1–3 years of related experience, and strong customer-service skills in a senior living setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
• One to three years related experience and/or training.
• Current chauffeur driver's license required.
• Experience in customer service environment, preferably in a senior living setting.

Responsibilities

• Drives vehicle to transport residents from community to destination.
• Assists disabled passengers into and out of vehicle.
• Secures passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
• Report disruption of service to manager.
• Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
• Meets all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
• Assists in planning, scheduling and conducting activities programs for residents.
• Attends community planned functions and coordinates events end-to-end.
• Addresses resident groups and other groups on subjects of common interest.
• Interacts with residents, guests and staff in an atmosphere of hospitality.

Driver/Activities Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Drives vehicle to transport residents from community to destination.
• Assists disabled passengers into and out of vehicle.
• Secures passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
• Report disruption of service to manager.
• Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
• Meets all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
• Assists in planning, scheduling and conducting activities programs that provide physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities for the residents.
• Attends community planned functions and assists with coordinating events from beginning to end including setup, running, and breaking down for the event.
• Addresses resident groups and other groups on subjects of common interest.
• Interacts with residents, guests and staff in an atmosphere of hospitality.

Educational/Experience

• Current chauffeur drivers’ license is required.
• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
• One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Prior experience in customer service environment, preferably in a senior living setting.
