Job summary

Ascension Living HOPE in Wichita, KS is seeking a dedicated full-time Driver/Transporter for day shifts to safely move Pace participants to the center, residences, and medical appointments. The role requires a valid driver’s license and preferred BLS/AED credentials.

You will operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles, perform safety checks, and support the Transportation Supervisor with daily needs. A strong focus on safety and compassionate care is essential.

Qualifications

• Driver's license required prior to hire date.
• Chauffeur preferred.
• BLS Provider certification preferred.
• AED certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport PACE participants to and from the center, homes, and appointments, keeping to schedule.
• Operate and inspect vehicles daily, using wheelchair lifts and safety equipment properly and following all traffic laws.
• Assist participants in and out of the vehicle with care, respect, and attention to safety.
• Communicate promptly about any issues or incidents and support the Transportation Supervisor with daily department needs.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Chauffeur preferred.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Heart Saver AED preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
