Job summary

Eagle Crest Communities at Bethany Home in Waupaca, WI is seeking a Full-Time Driver to transport residents to appointments and activities, assist with mobility, and keep the vehicle clean and safe. This onsite role requires dedication, reliability, and compassionate service.

You will follow safety rules, communicate with staff, document trips, and participate in training. A valid driver's license with a clean record and at least two years of driving experience are required; CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience.
• Familiar with local routes and GPS navigation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility challenges safely.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of safety regulations and protocols.
• Ability to follow directions and adapt to changing schedules or priorities.
• Must pass a caregiver background check and motor vehicle record (MVR).

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from medical appointments, social outings, and other designated locations.
• Assist residents in entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of the vehicle, conducting routine checks and reporting any issues.
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe driving practices at all times.
• Communicate effectively with nursing home staff and residents regarding transportation schedules and changes.
• Provide compassionate and respectful interaction with residents during transport.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
• Assist with loading and unloading residents' mobility aids, such as wheelchairs and walkers.
• Respond promptly to any emergencies or unexpected situations during transport.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay updated on safety protocols and procedures.
