Job summary

Recology is seeking a driver to operate assigned vehicles from 5:00am to 2:00pm, under limited supervision. You will perform safety checks, pre-trip inspections, and load materials while ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

The role emphasizes building positive customer relations across service areas. The position requires at least one year of commercial driving experience, with two years preferred, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• One year of commercial driving experience; two years preferred.
• Principles and practices of job site safety and relevant regulations, including waste regulations.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and communications.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections.
• Applies safety measures consistently for operation of the vehicle.
• Operates vehicle in assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
• Loads materials according to procedures and reports violations to supervisor.
• Ensures hazardous materials are not accepted where applicable.
• Ensures loads comply with legal weight limits.
• Reports accidents or safety violations promptly to the appropriate authority.
• Maintains customer relations and supports a positive company image.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Shift: Monday- Friday, 5:00am - 2:00pm

Role

Under limited supervision, accountable for the efficient and effective operation of assigned vehicle, the consistent application of safety and operational procedures, and maintenance of good customer relations throughout all applicable service areas.

Essential Responsibilities

• Performs daily routine safety checks, and pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicle.
• Ensures all safety measures appropriate for operation of assigned vehicle are consistently and efficiently applied.
• Operates vehicle in all assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
• Loads all assigned materials according to normal operating procedures and reports any violations to supervisor.
• Ensures hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
• Assures materials being transported comply within the legal load limits.
• Reports all accidents and/or safety violations to the appropriate authority and in a timely manner.
• Maintain support of good customer relations and positively influences the community’s perception of the Company throughout all applicable service areas.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• One yearofcommercial drivingexperience (Two years of commercial driving experience preferred).
• Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations including applicable waste regulation.
• Basic computer programs.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Current commercial driver's license and a current valid medical card.
