Job summary

Medstar seeks drivers to assist with transporting patients and clients using wheelchair-accessible vans, buses, or sedans for non-emergency medical transportation and related services.

Shifts include 4:00 AM–4:00 PM and 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with rotational on-call duties. Applicants must be 21+, hold a valid license, and pass DOT drug screening and background checks. Training provided; must secure clients in wheelchairs and keep vehicles clean.

Qualifications

• Must be over 21 with at least 5 years of licensed driving.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
• Must pass a DOT drug screening and mandatory criminal background check.
• Must be physically able to secure clients in wheelchairs or other devices.
• Must have a positive attitude and a genuine desire to help others.
• Must be available to drive varying shifts and rotational on-call duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly and effectively with dispatch.
• Utilize a smartphone for job functions.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Transport clients safely and securely using a company vehicle.
• Participate in rotational on-call duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are hiring drivers to assist with various services such as transporting patients and other clients. Medstar provides several types of contracted transportation using wheelchair-accessible vans, buses, or sedans. These may include non-emergency medical transportation, ADA paratransit, fixed-route transportation, shuttle services, Lift and ProMaster transports, cot and stretcher trips and rides with children.

Requirements

• Be over the age of 21 (licensed for at least 5 years)
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Must NOT have more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years
• Must pass a DOT drug screening and mandatory criminal background check
• Must be physically able to secure clients in wheelchairs or other devices
• Must have a positive attitude and a genuine desire to help others
• Must be available to drive varying shifts and rotational on-call duties as assigned, based on operational needs
