Job summary

KALESTA HEALTHCARE GROUP in Puyallup, WA is seeking a full-time caregiver to lift and transport residents, assist with mobility, and maintain accurate transportation logs. You will work closely with nurses and other staff to provide safe, compassionate care.

A high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and strong English communication are required. Experience with seniors is preferred, and you must protect confidentiality and follow established policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid state driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Lift residents to wheelchair or gurney safely.
• Push residents in a wheelchair or on a gurney safely.
• Follow safety policies when using equipment.
• Develop positive relationships with co-workers and outside staff.
• Transfer identification records per policies and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain Transportation Log and Mileage Log.
• Attend in-service trainings and on-the-job training programs.
• Attend workshops, seminars, etc., as approved.
• Report unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to supervisor.
• Replenish supplies necessary to perform the job function.
• Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident information and release information per policies.

Salary Range: $16.66 - $22.00 Hourly

Responsibilities

• Lift patients/residents in order to place them in a wheelchair or gurney.
• Push resident on a gurney or in a wheelchair safely.
• Use all equipment according to safety policies.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with co-workers and outside professional staff.
• Transfer identification records for the resident in accordance with the policies and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain accurate record of Transportation Log and Mileage Log.
• Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
• Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., as approved.
• Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to your supervisor.
• Replenish supplies necessary to perform the job function.
• Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident information. Release information in accordance with established policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to function independently, be flexible, possess personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with other personnel.
• Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• License: Must possess a valid state driver’s license in good standing.
• Work Experience: Experience in working or caring for senior citizens preferred.
• Language Skills: Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information, and to be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language.
• Communication Skills: Must have exceptional communication and customer service skills, and be empathetic; ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, responsible parties, staff and outside resources.
