Job summary

Superior Plus Propane is seeking a Propane Delivery Driver in Portland, ME to ensure safe and timely delivery of propane to customers. The role involves loading, unloading, and providing excellent customer service while upholding the highest safety standards and performing routine vehicle inspections.

You will work with dispatchers on routing, track inventory and generate delivery tickets, and may be eligible for overtime and incentive programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Delivery driver experience preferred (1 year).
• CDL Class A or B license required (tanker and hazmat endorsements preferred).
• DOT medical certification required for eligibility.
• Legal authorization to work in the US; visa sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, load and unload propane safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and report any mechanical issues.
• Utilize technology to track inventory, print tickets and complete daily driver reports.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and site inspections as required.
• Coordinate with Dispatcher for routing and scheduling; communicate issues promptly.
• Work overtime as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Propane Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of propane to our customers. The Propane Delivery Driver will deliver, load and unload propane while providing exceptional customer service. Our Delivery Drivers are also accountable for upholding the highest standards for safety in the delivery and handling of propane and for conducting regular vehicle inspections and maintenance.

What you’ll do:

• Transfer, collect, load and deliver propane, product to and from containers (bulk truck, tanks and/or cylinders) for customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Leverage technology where available to: Monitor and track the transfer of propane inventory, tank levels and container sizing; accurately record and print delivery tickets for customers for product delivered; accurately complete and submit daily driver report where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to the highest level of safety standards, reporting any mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager/Dispatcher. Conduct and, if applicable document, pre and post vehicle inspections, site inspections and visual tank inspections.
• Collaborate with the Dispatcher frequently for routing and scheduling information. Notify the dispatcher of any product, customer, routing, scheduling or safety issues immediately to obtain their guidance and instruction on how to resolve the issue or situation.
• Employees may be required to work overtime hours when business needs require it.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum of 1 year delivery driver experience preferred
• CDL Class A or B
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsement preferred
• Current DOT medical certification

The hourly rate for this position is $30.00 - $33.00 per hour.

This role will be eligible for overtime pay once scheduled work week hours are met.

When applicable, this role is eligible for an on-call incentive stipend.

This position is also eligible for a quarterly/annual incentive program.
