  • Lift at least 40 lbs.

SUMMARY

The Truck Driver-Food Center operates and maintains the Food Center vehicle that picks up food and supplies from vendors and/or donors, serving as an "ambassador of goodwill" in the vehicle that is a "moving billboard" for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul South Pinellas, Inc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Make appointed rounds to pick up food and supplies as ordered by the Executive Chef
  • Help unload food and supplies from the vehicle for transfer to freezers and pantries
  • Notify the Executive Chef of vehicle service needs
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance
  • Complies with the Agency’s Transportation Safety Plan
  • Lift at least 40 lbs.

  • Knowledge of Pinellas county, St. Petersburg area
  • Driving record must be free from violations
  • Knowledgeable on road and safety regulations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

(Pending on position and if prior to hire is approved by Chief Executive Officer, a comparable amount of training, education or experience may be substituted for the minimum education qualifications)

  • This position requires at least a high school diploma or GED
  • This position requires a valid Driver’s License and an excellent driving record for at least three years prior to employment
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred
GENERAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Working in an office/site requires prolonged sitting at the computer workstation; standing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 40lbs. and some driving. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Environment will occasionally become noisy due to equipment operations and interactions among clients and staff. There may be the possibility of being exposed to communicable disease, possible exposure to verbal abuse or similar behavior from residents/clients. On an as needed basis, employees may be called upon to work outside of the established work schedule or work odd hours. All information associated with the Agency is confidential.
