Job summary

BHRAGS is seeking Non-CDL Drivers for NYC, Brooklyn, and the Tri-State Area. The role includes driving responsibilities and occasional duties as a Residential Associate during non-driving periods.

The position requires a valid NY driver’s license, 1–2 years of driving experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a flexible schedule to support multi-activity programs in a diverse environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of professional driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of all 5 Boroughs and the Tri-State.
• A valid NY State Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Operate vehicles with multiple passengers of all ages.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Pass criminal background checks and substance testing where required.
• Two work references minimum.
• Bilingual English–Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport staff and clients in a 12-passenger van.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and cleaning.
• Adhere to all driving laws and traffic regulations.
• Maintain mileage, fuel, and other vehicle records.
• Interact professionally with clients.
• Load/unload passengers as required.
• Substitute as needed and handle errands for program directors.

Description

Duties/Responsibilities

Safely transport staff and clients and operate a 12 passenger Van.

Coordinate scheduled vehicle maintenance and cleaning.

Abide by all local and state driving laws.

Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.

Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information.

Ability to follow directions and adhere to schedules.

Load and unload cargo or passengers as required.

Proficient use of GPS Software and Smart phone apps or competent map reading.

Report vehicle incidents, issues and malfunctions to the Director of Program.

Complete incident reports for any accidents, injuries.

Assist the Program Director with driver-related assignments.

Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use.

Maintain accurate records and keep repair records up to date.

Interact professionally with clients.

Substitute as a Residential Associate as needed and perform errands as assigned by the VP, Executive Director and/or Program Director.

Perform other/additional duties as assigned by VP, Program Director or Program Supervisor on duty.

Requirements

Job Requirement

1-2 years of professional driving experience is preferred.

A valid NY State Driver’s License.

Ability to use physical strength/ lift up to 50lbs .

Ability to operate vehicles with multiple passengers of all ages.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Ability to pass criminal background checks, and substance testing where required.

Work References (Minimum of 2)

Bilingual English – Spanish is a plus.

Ability to work flexible schedule as needed.

Excellent driving skills and ability to navigate various road conditions

Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to multi-cultural values, beliefs, and systems.

Maintain well-groomed attire.
