Home/Life Services Inc. established in 1995, is a community-based, human services organization

committed to improving the economic and social health of families impacted by homelessness.

Operating from a client centered perspective, Home/Life provides a safe and therapeutic environment that supports the social and economic independence of its families served. By developing and implementing innovative services and programs within our Families with Children’s facilities, we provide case management and job counseling, as well as help our families access the economic housing support that allows them to enter and stay in permanent housing.

Under the direction of the Social Services Director, The Driver will be responsible for transporting

clients to apartment viewings and appointments with various agencies

Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Driver include but not limited to:

Administrative:
  • Update mileage records and submit them monthly.
  • Report any incidents or accidents.
Programmatic Achievement:
  • Transport clients to permanent housing, apartment viewings, and other appointments.
  • Assists families with moving in and out of facilities.
  • Assist with loading and unloading the van with the Maintenance Department for each facility.
  • Operates facility vans on all type of road ways.
  • Must communicate with Program Director on whereabouts on a daily basis.
  • Interact with clients professionally.
  • Must answer phone calls when called (unless driving).
  • Visually inspect the interior and exterior of the vehicle on a daily basis.
  • Must make sure that it is clean at all times.
  • Must ensure van is in excellent working condition (i.e., making sure the vehicle has enough gas, keeping up with oil changes, making sure brakes are working properly).
  • Must ensure that the vehicle is taken to proper inspections and that registration is up to date.
  • Confirm that the E-ZPass is properly affixed and functioning when traveling through tolls.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Be responsible for any Motor Vehicle Traffic Violations incurred while operating the vehicle.
  • In the event of an emergency, essential employees are required to report to work as scheduled.

Duties and responsibilities subject to change based upon assessment of company needs.

Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid Driver’s License that passes a license record check required.
  • One year of experience in Transportation Services preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively with facility staff, clients, and administration, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
