Job summary

LifeBridge Community Services is seeking a Driver (regular and relief) to correctly pack and deliver meals to clients in a safe and timely manner. The role includes reporting significant changes in clients’ conditions and being available on a flexible on-call basis.

Responsibilities include driving safely, packing meals, picking up meals, delivering to clients, and maintaining records. The position emphasizes confidentiality, teamwork, and adherence to agency policies.

Qualifications

  • Current, valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Strong safety and customer-service mindset
  • Ability to report changes in clients’ conditions and coordinate with staff
  • Flexible schedule including on-call shifts

Responsibilities

  • Drive safely and courteously as a LifeBridge Community Services representative
  • Pack meals according to packing lists and deliver to clients
  • Pick up meals at the preparation site and ensure timely delivery
  • Maintain accurate records of meal temperatures and vehicle inspections
  • Report changes in clients’ status to office staff
  • Adhere to confidentiality and agency policies
  • Attend driver meetings and participate in team briefings
  • Cooperate with state and area agency representatives
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and arrange maintenance as needed
  • Assist with distributing materials to clients as assigned
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervision

Job description

Job Purpose/Function:

As a Driver, regular and relief, your main focus is to correctly pack and deliver meals to clients in a safe and timely manner. To report significant changes in client's physical, emotional, or social conditions. Relief Drivers must be available on a \"as needed\" or \"on call\" basis.

Major Responsibilities:
  1. Always drive in a safe and courteous manner remembering that you are a representative of LifeBridge Community Services.
  2. Anticipate the proper Ice Packs for usage.
  3. Pick up meals at the preparation site.
  4. Pack meals according to the daily packing lists provided.
  5. Alert office staff of changes in clients' status
  6. Deliver meals to clients.
  7. Respect client confidentiality
  8. Keep accurate records of meal temperatures, gasoline purchases, vehicle inspections.
  9. Clean containers and vehicles daily
  10. Alert Team Leader to vehicle maintenance needs; take van to service garage for maintenance.
  11. Attending driver meetings.
  12. Distribute materials and notices to clients as assigned.
  13. Cooperate with representatives from the State and Area Agency.
  14. Adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
  15. Treat all LifeBridge staff with respect and honesty and develop cooperative teamwork.
  16. Perform other duties as appointed by the Team Leader, Operations Manager and Program Director.
Education and Experience Required:
  • Current, valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Clean criminal history
  • Good physical health
  • Ability to collaborate cooperatively with staff and volunteers of the program.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, moving the whole-body including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

Confidentiality:

The employee will have to sign a confidentiality agreement. Violation of this agreement may result in disciplinary action up to and including immediate dismissal.

Physical Requirements

Frequent sitting and ability to talk and hear. Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, crouch and kneel. The member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 + pounds. The members will have to travel locally by vehicle, as well as interact with clients. Required to be free from communicable diseases.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is typical of any residential setting/outpatient treatment facility and ranges from low to high. Frequent interaction with individuals in the program and community.
