Job summary

Kärcher seeks a General Purpose Transportation Aide to provide reliable resident transport to medical appointments and activities. You will help with loading/unloading, maintain vehicle safety, and adapt to schedule changes while ensuring comfort and safety inside community vehicles.

Responsibilities include operating and monitoring maintenance, following CNA or caregiver training where applicable, and upholding a professional image in the community.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or a GED.
• Must have a valid DL.
• Familiar with GPS and local driving area.
• No Traffic Crimes in the last 7 years.
• DUI, DWS, Reckless Driving, No Traffic Felonies.
• Not more than 2 moving violations in 3 years.
• Not more than one accident in 3 years.
• Pass a drug screen and background check.

Job description

General Purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide transportation services to residents for activities or medical appointments.

Pay Range for this position is $18-$22 DOE

Essential Duties

• Assists residents with loading and unloading from community-approved vehicles.
• Ensures the safe transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments or other approved activities, resident outings, etc.
• Maintains the interior and exterior of community vehicles to promote safe and comfortable transport for the residents and project a positive image in the community.
• Monitors vehicle maintenance logs and delivers vehicles for regularly scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Must be flexible with work time (in the event a resident appointment or activity runs late)
• Must have training and be able to return demonstrate safe clinical based transfer techniques for:
• Ingress/Egress of mobile r4esidents with vehicle
• Transfer of residents into and out of wheelchairs.
• Properly securing residents wheelchairs into bays in vehicle.
• Must be able to lift transfer and mobilize resident weights of up to 70 pounds by self in confined areas inside vehicle.
• Must be able to make complex decisions involving residents.

Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisor responsibilities.

Qualification Education and/or Experience

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or a GED
• Minimum - 25 years old
• Must have a valid DL
• Must be familiar with GPS and local driving area.
• No Traffic Crimes in the last 7 years.
• DUI, DWS, Reckless Driving, No Traffic Felonies
• Multiple DUI, or DWS, Leaving Scene with Injuries, Assault with Vehicle
• Not more than 2 moving violations in 3 years
• Not more than one accident in 3 years
• Pass a drug screen and background check

Language Skills

• Ability to read, write and understand job related instructions and manuals
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and residents.

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite products.
• Must have successfully completed CNA or Caregiver training and maintain all CE to maintain certification.
