Job summary

Autumnwind in Caldwell, ID seeks a Transportation Aide to provide safe, reliable transport for residents to medical appointments and activities. You will assist with loading/unloading, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and monitor safety during trips.

A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required, plus CNA or Caregiver training with CE upkeep. Lifting up to 75 pounds and schedule flexibility are expected, with equal opportunity employer commitments.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• No traffic crimes in the last 7 years; limit to 2 moving violations in 3 years.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check.
• Must have CNA or Caregiver training and maintain CE to keep certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with loading/unloading from community-approved vehicles.
• Ensure safe transportation to medical appointments or activities.
• Maintain interior and exterior of vehicles for safety and comfort.
• Monitor vehicle maintenance logs and arrange routine servicing.
• Flexible with work times due to late appointments.
• Demonstrate safe transfer techniques for ingress/egress and wheelchair transfers.
• Lift and mobilize residents up to 75 pounds in confined spaces inside vehicles.
• Make complex decisions involving residents.

Job description

General Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to provide transportation services to residents for activities or medical appointments.

Pay Range for this position is $20-$22 DOE.

Essential Duties:

• Assists residents with loading and unloading from community-approved vehicles.
• Ensures the safe transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments or other approved activities, resident outings, etc.
• Maintains the interior and exterior of community vehicles to promote safe and comfortable transport for the residents and project a positive image in the community.
• Monitors vehicle maintenance logs and delivers vehicles for regularly scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Must be flexible with work time (in the event a resident appointment or activity runs late)
• Must have training and be able to return demonstrate safe clinical based transfer techniques for:
• Ingress/Egress of mobile r4esidents with vehicle
• Transfer of residents into and out of wheelchairs.
• Properly securing residents wheelcahirs into bays in vehicle.
• Must be able to lift transfer and mobilize resident weights of up to 70 pounds by self in confined areas inside vehicle.
• Must be able to make complex decisions involving residents.

Supervisory Requirements:

This position has no supervisor responsibilities Qualification Education and/or Experience Minimum of a High School Diploma or a GED Minimum - 25 years old Must have a valid DL Must be familiar with GPS and local driving area. No Traffic Crimes in the last 7 years. DUI, DWS, Reckless Driving, No Traffic Felonies Multiple DUI, or DWS, Leaving Scene with Injuries, Assault with Vehicle Not more than 2 moving violations in 3 years Not more than one accident in 3 years Pass a drug screen and background check

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write and understand job related instructions and manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and residents.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite products. Must have successfully completed CNA or Caregiver training and maintain all CE to maintain certification.
