Job summary

Autumn Wind Assisted Living is seeking a transportation aide to move residents to medical appointments and activities in Caldwell, Idaho. The role requires safe transfer techniques and vehicle operation with a focus on resident comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, maintaining vehicles, and coordinating with staff. A valid DL and CNA/caregiver training are preferred; position may require flexible hours and lifting up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Familiar with GPS and local driving area.
• No traffic crimes in last 7 years.
• Completion of CNA or Caregiver training preferred; CE maintenance required.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to medical appointments and activities.
• Assist residents with loading and unloading from community vehicles.
• Maintain and present positive image of the community vehicle fleet.
• Monitor vehicle maintenance logs and schedule routine servicing.
• Able to lift/move up to 75 pounds; assist with transfers.

General Purpose:The purpose of this position is to provide transportation services to residents for activities or medical appointments.Pay Range for this position is $20-$22 DOE.Essential Duties:Assists residents with loading and unloading from community-approved vehicles.• Ensures the safe transportation of residents to scheduled medical appointments or other approved activities, resident outings, etc.• Maintains the interior and exterior of community vehicles to promote safe and comfortable transport for the residents and project a positive image in the community.• Monitors vehicle maintenance logs and delivers vehicles for regularly scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.• All other duties as assigned.• Must be flexible with work time (in the event a resident appointment or activity runs late)• Must have training and be able to return demonstrate safe clinical based transfer techniques for:Ingress/Egress of mobile r4esidents with vehicle• Transfer of residents into and out of wheelchairs.• Properly securing residents wheelcahirs into bays in vehicle.• Must be able to lift transfer and mobilize resident weights of up to 70 pounds by self in confined areas inside vehicle.• Must be able to make complex decisions involving residents.Supervisory Requirements: This position has no supervisor responsibilities Qualification Education and/or Experience Minimum of a High School Diploma or a GED Minimum – 25 years old Must have a valid DL Must be familiar with GPS and local driving area. DUI, DWS, Reckless Driving, No Traffic Felonies Multiple DUI, or DWS, Leaving Scene with Injuries, Assault with Vehicle Not more than 2 moving violations in 3 years Not more than one accident in 3 years Pass a drug screen and background checkLanguage Skills: Ability to read, write and understand job related instructions and manuals Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and residents.Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the Microsoft Suite products.
