Drivers perform thorough pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicles are fully stocked with emergency supplies, ensuring each ride is safe. Drivers receive structured training, follow straightforward procedures, and effectively communicate with dispatch and leadership.

This role is different because Drivers at WelbeHealth:

  • Work as a team - drivers, dispatch, supervisors, and clinics stay aligned

  • Grow through learning - ongoing training builds skills to strengthen professional development, as well as service to participants and team members

We care about our team members. That's why we offer:

  • Medical insurance coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision)

  • Work/life balance - We mean it! 17 days of personal time off (PTO), 12 holidays observed annually, and 6 sick days

  • 401K savings + match

  • Comprehensive compensation package including base pay, bonus, and equity

  • And additional benefits!

On the day-to-day, you will:

  • Adhere to an assigned schedule of transporting PACE participants, ensuring high customer satisfaction

  • Follow all traffic and safety regulations while operating vehicles

  • Conduct comprehensive pre-inspections on assigned vehicles, including lift vans, ADA accessible minibuses, and ambulatory vehicles prior to the start of each shift

  • Assist participants getting in and out of vehicles, as well as transferring participants in and out of wheelchairs

  • Remain alert to pertinent input from other team members, participants, and caregivers, and promptly update the Transportation Supervisor of any changes in a participant’s condition or psychosocial status

Job requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalency; one (1) year of experience may be substituted in lieu of education

  • Copy of recent vehicle insurance required

  • All drivers must hold a valid driver's license and meet company driving qualifications, including eligibility under our commercial auto insurance program. Applicants must generally be at least 25 years old; candidates ages 23-24 may be considered based on driving history and other underwriting criteria. Drivers over age 70 may be required to provide current medical certification

  • Availability to work a variable schedule is required; shift assignments are determined by operational needs and may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Must be comfortable using technology

  • Experience in non-emergency transportation or public transportation preferred

  • Participate in the DMV pull notice and random testing for alcohol and controlled substances programs, pass DOJ/FBI background check, and pass DOT physical exam

  • Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 180 days of hire and maintain certification thereafter; CPR and First Aid certification upon hire preferred

We are seeking Drivers that ideally have patient transport and/or exceptional customer service experience.

Compensation consists of base salary plus bonus. WelbeHealth offers a competitive total rewards package that includes a 401(k) match, comprehensive healthcare coverage, and a broad range of additional benefits.
