Job summary

SA Recycling is seeking Class A or B Drivers to safely transport metals from supplier locations to processing facilities. This local, home-daily role operates various semi and straight trucks with dump bodies, flat beds, dry vans, and other trailers as needed.

CDL required, 3+ years driving, 21+ years old, and must pass DOT physical and background checks. You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, secure cargo, and communicate safety issues.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL.
• Three (3) plus years of commercial driving experience.
• 21+ years old.
• DOT medical exam pass and ability to meet FMCSA/FMCSR requirements.
• Background check clearance.
• Clearinghouse registration as required by FMCSA.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of company trucks and maintain logs per DOT regulations.
• Pick up material from suppliers and deliver to SA Recycling and customer locations as directed by dispatch.
• Properly secure all cargo for transport and communicate safety or equipment issues to management.
• Operate vehicles safely on staging areas, parking surfaces, and roads; keep vehicles clean and present a professional image.
• Wear PPE as required and follow company policies.

SA Recycling, an industry leader in the metals recycling and processing industry, is looking for Class A or B Drivers to join our team. Our drivers are the face of the Company and safely transport metals for recycling from supplier locations to our processing facilities and operate different semi and straight chassis trucks utilizing dump bodies, flat beds, dry vans, roll-off boxes, lugger boxes and three-sided car trailers, depending on business needs and licensing. This position is local, home daily, and runs familiar routes.

Responsibilities of a Driver

• Responsible for pre and post trip inspections of all company owned and operated trucks and maintain all required logs of driving hours and vehicle service and repair status in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Pick up material from supplier locations and deliver to SA Recycling and customer locations as directed by dispatch.
• Properly secure all cargo for transport using the appropriate methods.
• Communicate any safety or equipment issues with management.
• Operate effectively and safely on all staging areas, parking surfaces, and roads.
• Must keep vehicles clean and organized and present the best impression to the public.
• Use personal protective equipment as required by SA Recycling, its customers, and as required by the type of material being transported.

Qualifications of a Driver

• High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License.
• Three (3) plus years’ commercial driving experience.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission preferred.
• Minimum 21 years old.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical, meet all qualifications of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and pass a background check.
• Must be registered in Clearinghouse as required by FMCSR.
• Candidates may not have more than 2 moving violations within the past 2 years for consideration.
