Job summary

SA Recycling is hiring Class A Drivers to safely transport metals for recycling from supplier locations to processing facilities. This local role is home daily and follows familiar routes with a focus on safety and cargo security.

Responsibilities include pre/post trip inspections, delivering loads, securing cargo, and maintaining logs in line with DOT regulations. Benefits include medical plans, 401k, weekly pay, uniforms/PPE, and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL and be able to pass a DOT physical.
• Clearinghouse registration as required by FMCSR.
• Candidate should have 3+ years of commercial driving experience preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain logs per DOT.
• Pickup material from supplier locations and deliver to SA Recycling and customer sites as directed.
• Secure cargo using appropriate methods.
• Communicate safety or equipment issues to management.
• Operate trucks safely on various surfaces and keep units clean and organized.

SA Recycling, an industry leader in the metals recycling and processing industry, is looking for Class A Drivers to join our team. Our drivers are the face of the Company and safely transport metals for recycling from supplier locations to our processing facilities and operate different semi and straight chassis trucks utilizing dump bodies, flat beds, dry vans, roll-off boxes, lugger boxes and three-sided car trailers, depending on business needs and licensing. This position is local, home daily, and runs familiar routes.

Responsibilities of a Driver

• Responsible for pre and post trip inspections of all company owned and operated trucks and maintain all required logs of driving hours and vehicle service and repair status in accordance with DOT regulations.
• Pick up material from supplier locations and deliver to SA Recycling and customer locations as directed by dispatch.
• Properly secure all cargo for transport using the appropriate methods.
• Communicate any safety or equipment issues with management.
• Operate effectively and safely on all staging areas, parking surfaces, and roads.
• Must keep vehicles clean and organized and present the best impression to the public.
• Use personal protective equipment as required by SA Recycling, its customers, and as required by the type of material being transported.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications of a Driver

• High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Three (3) plus years’ commercial driving experience preferred.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission preferred.
• Minimum 21 years old.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical, meet all qualifications of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and pass a background check.
• Must be registered in Clearinghouse as required by FMCSR.
• Candidates may not have more than 2 moving violations within the past 2 years for consideration.

• Equipment & Tools: Trucks up to 18 wheeler, hydraulic truck tilt and lift operations, box containers, mechanics tools
