Your Role and Responsibilities
Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused CDL Driver to support the daily operations of chemical distribution. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of Class 8 tractors and related equipment to transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials, including both liquid and dry products.

Responsibilities include performing bulk and packaged deliveries, executing proper loading and unloading procedures, completing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and Brenntag’s safety standards. Job Description:

General:

  • Daily operation and driving of a power unit (Class 8 tractors and lower) for chemical distribution.
  • Transport of HAZMAT and non-hazardous materials, both liquid and dry.
  • Proper care for all assigned equipment, including ELDs, virtual gateways, camera systems and tracking units; ensure equipment is in good working order before use.
  • Remain in communication with supervisor or dispatcher to receive delivery instructions.
  • Movements to satisfy outside delivery (customers/vendors), in‑plant movements (spotting), and inter-company branch transfers.
  • Operate tractor, trailer or service vehicle safely and efficiently, complying with DOT, OSHA, site-specific rules, packaging, labeling, marking, loading/unloading, placarding, pre-inspection, daily logs and reporting repairs.
  • Follow Brenntag operating procedures, work instructions and safety policies while on a customer/vendor site.
  • Maintain certification for operating pallet jacks (electric or manual) and forklift if required; operate dock locks, dock levelers and additional equipment for material delivery/pickup.
  • Complete all required training and observe company policies and procedures.
  • Always represent the company professionally and stay organized.
Your Profile
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience.
  • Must meet all driver qualifications (DQ).
Other Job Requirements:
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.
  • Comfortable with general warehouse duties and the use of applicable equipment.
  • Detail and customer oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Complete all training as required.
  • Observe, follow, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Always represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and conduct detailed and simple instructions in English and write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
  • Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, transportation platforms (e.g., Samsara) to conduct normal safety, compliance and business operations.
  • Willing to operate power units with advanced camera and safety systems (i.e., Samsara) for compliance purposes.
  • Must reside local to area (within sixty miles). No lodging provided.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check and E‑verify check.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • This job has no supervisory responsibility.
Physical Requirements
  • Must pass a pre-employment DOT fit‑for‑duty exam.
  • Must be able to sit and drive for long hours.
  • Must be able to step into and out of equipment safely.
  • Must be able to stage, move, set up, operate, and break down equipment while performing loading/delivery tasks.
  • Lifting ability up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequently pushes, pulls or moves up to 150 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator (if required) and all other personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to load and unload hazardous material.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder.
