Job summary

Kirby Corporation is seeking a driver to safely operate fuel trucks, tractors, and trailers for industrial and marine customers. The role includes loading/unloading cargo and maintaining accurate logs.

The position requires a Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement, a valid Texas driver’s license, and the ability to pass a DOT physical. You will work a rotating 12-hour schedule with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Overview

The Driver will safely operate fuel trucks, trailers, flatbed trailers and small trucks, loading and unloading cargo, for industrial and marine customers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate bobtails, tractor trailers, fuel trucks, small trucks, as wells as mini floats.
• Load and unload cargo to industrial and marine customers
• Properly track and document activity Log using ELD or paper logs as required.
• Complete in-house paperwork per load
• Report any issues or incidents to dispatch immediately.
• Inspect truck before and after trip.
• Work around yard and dock when not on project or deliveries
• Maintain daily housekeeping on equipment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License
• Must have the ability to drive company vehicles including fuel trucks, trailers, flatbed trailer, small trucks and mini floats.
• General computer skills

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must possess a Class A CDL with a Hazmat endorsement.

Physical Activities & Requirements:

• Must pass a DOT physical designed to test for ability to work in conditions specific to this job.
• Must be capable of occasional heavy lifting/lift and carry 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:

• Work a rotating schedule which includes day & night shifts. 12-hour shift.
• Additional hours may be required to cover absentee workers.
• Ability to work outside in extreme elements and climate changes.
