Job summary

McLane is seeking a CDL-A Delivery Driver to join our team in Durham, NC. You will inspect and operate tractor-trailers per DOT rules, manage bills of lading, and ensure accurate delivery to customer sites. The role emphasizes safety, timely delivery, and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required with at least 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English sufficiently for safety and delivery tasks.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
• Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
• Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and at customer premises.
• Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.
• Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You’ll Bring As a CDL-A Teammate

• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A).
• At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.
