Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation for students as needed.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain vehicle records and documentation per requirements.
• Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Assist Safety & Security in maintaining a safe environment.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents as required.
• Support residential, recreation, transportation and other center operations as needed.
• Mentor students and model professional behavior.

The Miami Job Corps Center is seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and student-centered Driver to join our team. This position plays an important role in providing safe and reliable transportation for students while helping maintain a secure, positive, and supportive Center environment.If you are a responsible driver who enjoys working with young people and takes pride in safety, accountability, and excellent service, we encourage you to apply!WHAT YOU’LL DOAs a Driver, you will:Provide safe and reliable transportation services for students as required.Conduct vehicle inspections and promptly report safety concerns or maintenance needs.Maintain required vehicle records and documentation in accordance with DOL and Company requirements.Schedule and deliver vehicles for preventive maintenance and necessary repairs.Assist the Safety & Security Department in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students and staff.Conduct routine safety inspections, security tours, and assessments of Center facilities and equipment.Assist with accident and incident investigations, documentation, and required reports.Respond appropriately to emergency situations and requests.Assist with visitor control, student accountability, and supervision.Support residential, recreation, transportation, and other Center operations as needed.Maintain the security and cleanliness of Center facilities, property, and assigned vehicles.Work collaboratively with staff across departments to ensure students receive effective supervision and quality services.Serve as a positive role model by mentoring students and reinforcing Career Success Standards.Treat students with respect and courtesy while maintaining appropriate expectations for accountability and behavior.QUALIFICATIONSRequired:High School Diploma or equivalent.Valid Florida Driver’s License that is maintained throughout employment.Ability to meet Company insurability requirements.Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with students and staff.Preferred:Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).Previous experience working with youth.Advanced education or degree.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position requires the ability to perform activities including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, stooping, crouching, carrying, pushing, and pulling.Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds or appropriately assess a load and request assistance when necessary.
