About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Drilling Engineer to join their operational team in Upington . This role is central to the planning, execution, and supervision of drilling operations for oil and gas wells. You will be responsible for ensuring that wells are drilled safely, efficiently, and economically, utilizing advanced techniques and technologies within the demanding Oil & Gas sector .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and design well programs, including casing, cementing, and drilling fluid strategies.
• Develop drilling cost estimates and optimize drilling parameters for efficiency.
• Supervise drilling operations on-site, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
• Manage drilling equipment and service providers to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot drilling problems and implement solutions to minimize non-productive time (NPT).
• Conduct post-drilling analysis and recommend improvements for future operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of drilling technologies, equipment, and operational procedures.
