Freeport-McMoRan’s Bagdad operations in Arizona seek a drilling operator to perform primary and secondary blast-hole drilling, maintain safety standards, and support maintenance tasks. The role requires attention to drill quality, issue reporting, and collaboration with the blasting crew in a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• 6 months of mobile equipment operating experience.
• The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and pass required assessments (LOP) when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Drill quality primary & secondary blast holes to depth and proper collaring.
• Identify and report mechanical issues on the drill and wear of bits.
• Safely move and position power cables around shovels.
• Operate manual or automated drills and assist with pipe changes.
• Perform pre-shift inspections and routine maintenance.
• Coordinate with blasting crew and communicate via dispatch system.
