Job summary

Armada Staffing Group is seeking a Driller Helper to support geotechnical drilling operations on-site across project sites in the Ohio area. The role involves assisting the Driller, mobilizing rigs, handling drilling tools, and supporting sample collection.

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and the ability to perform physical labor in all weather conditions. Travel and occasional overnight stays are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to perform physical labor and lift 50+ lbs.
• Travel to job sites and stay out of town as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Driller with geotechnical drilling operations (soil borings, sampling, site investigations).
• Mobilize/demobilize drill rigs and set up job sites.
• Handle and transport drill rods, augers, casing, and tools.
• Support soil and rock sample collection for testing and analysis.
• Mix drilling fluids and assist with rig operation as directed.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment and vehicles.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe job site.
• Complete field logs and track daily activities.
• Travel to project sites and occasionally stay overnight during the work week.
