Job summary

Connelly and Associates in Winchester, VA is seeking a Driller Helper to support geotechnical or sonic drilling projects. The role involves assisting with drilling equipment, handling drill rods, and maintaining site safety while collecting geological samples.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work outdoors in demanding conditions. OT work and DOT-related screenings may be required.

Qualifications

• Pass initial and random drug screens, initial agility test & DOT medical exam

Responsibilities

• Support the lead driller in operating drilling machinery, including managing drill rods, pipes, and other tools.
• Monitor drilling fluid levels and assist in mixing and handling drilling muds and additives as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the drilling site to comply with safety and environmental regulations.
• Help collect and document geological samples and drilling data accurately for further analysis.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on drilling equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
• Follow all safety protocols and participate in safety meetings and training sessions.

• Previous experience in geotechnical or geothermal or related field work.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and environmental regulations.

• OSHA 10 or 30
• Skid Steer or Mini-Excavator experience
• Ability to read and write legibly
