Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc is seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator with vertical and/or horizontal drilling experience. A strong mechanical aptitude and the desire to advance within the drilling and blasting industry are required.

The company emphasizes internal advancement and industry-leading learning opportunities, with a travel stipend provided. Pay is $24-30/hr DOE, with potential for more for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hydraulic equipment operating experience.
• Experience with Epiroc top hammer drills or similar preferred.
• Valid Driver's License with own reliable transportation.
• One year experience in the construction industry.
• Experience as a construction laborer.
• Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment operation.
• Must be able to pass ATF screenings.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform all construction or quarry drilling activity in accordance with the job program to achieve anticipated production.
• Follow Safety Policies and Procedures. Perform daily maintenance activities required for safe, efficient operation of assigned equipment, including Epiroc top hammer drills.
• Understand drill patterns and terminology and execute drill pattern and layout as established by the Blaster Foreman.
• Maximize the usage of all drill supplies.
• Inventory accessories and understand cost of accessories and maintenance drills.
• Communicate problems and terrain conditions to the Blasting Supervisor.
• Complete drill reports, hole sheets, and signed timecards in the Field Accounting system.
• Physical agility and ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety.
• Participate in Foreman, safety, and job-specific meetings.
