Job summary

Andean Precious Metals Corp. is seeking a Drill and Blast Supervisor for our California operations near Mojave. The role leads drill/blast functions, manages a 16-driller team, and aligns blasting activities with safety standards and project goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of mining experience preferred.
• At least 2 years of open-pit mine drilling experience or 4 years in construction drill and blast.
• Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of supervising and mentoring teams.
• Extensive knowledge of drilling and blasting techniques, safety protocols, and industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, coordination, and oversight of all drill/blast functions (on-site).
• Manage a team of drillers, general laborers, and drill techs.
• Assess blasting operations and formulate best practice guidelines, including controlled blasting methods.
• Participate in development and support of Safety Policies for mining operations.
• Attend Mine Planning, safety, and job meetings as needed.
• Develop professional networking relationships with internal and external customers.
• Create and manage drill and blast department budget.
• Oversee mitigation processes for underground workings.
• Identify high-risk blasting situations and arrange training to close gaps.
• Provide inter-company technical reports on blasting applications and results.
