Job summary

Manson Construction Co. is seeking a Mate to direct Deckhands and oversee maintenance and operation of dredges, pipelines, and related equipment on marine construction projects. Expect 8–12 hour shifts and extensive travel to job sites.

You will ensure safety, conduct JSA's, supervise crew, and coordinate with operators to maintain efficient, compliant dredging operations on maritimes projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in a marine environment, preferably with dredges, dredge pipelines, and dredge auxiliary equipment.
• Must be able to travel and work a rotating schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
• Must have valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Direct Deckhands and assist to secure mooring lines to the dredge, scows, or attending plant.
• Splice and repair cables and towing ropes as needed.
• Sweep and wash down all decks on the dredge and attending plant.
• Assist with work on pontoon lines, submerged lines, scows or attending plant.
• Assist with anchors and spud system operations and maintenance.
• Assist with cleaning pumps and working on the cutterhead.
• Serve as signal person for equipment operators.
• Load/unload materials and secure pipe to trucks.
