The Department of Art at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Drawing/Printmaking, beginning August 2027.

The candidate will teach drawing and printmaking across all levels, advise students, coordinate the drawing area, supervise adjunct faculty, and contribute to curriculum development and recruitment efforts.

Qualifications

• MFA in Studio Art with emphasis in drawing and printmaking.
• Minimum of two years of college-level teaching experience beyond graduate school.
• Strong knowledge of contemporary and historical issues in drawing and printmaking.
• Demonstrated professional studio practice with an active exhibition and scholarly record.

Responsibilities

• Teach three studio courses per semester across drawing and printmaking and foundational-level art, plus capstone as needed.
• Coordinate the drawing area and supervise adjunct faculty in drawing and printmaking.
• Develop a curriculum integrating varied techniques, materials, and conceptual approaches.
• Foster an innovative, welcoming studio environment.
• Maintain an active exhibition and scholarly record.
• Contribute to department, college, university, and community service including student recruitment and retention.
