Job summary

DelDOT is seeking a Physical Plant Maintenance/Trades Mechanic II to join the Maintenance & Operations Division in Delaware. The role repairs and operates drawbridges in Wilmington, and performs maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and painting.

Qualifications

• Six months experience operating and maintaining equipment used in trades such as plumbing or HVAC.
• Six months experience in trades like plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.
• Knowledge of interpreting blueprints, schematics or technical drawings.
• Knowledge of record keeping.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

Responsibilities

• Renovates equipment, builds partitions, furniture to extend usage.
• Performs maintenance in plumbing, carpentry, painting and assists in large projects.
• Inspects facilities, performs basic repairs and participates in preventative maintenance.
• Operates heavy equipment and maintains maintenance records.
