Brockton Public Schools is seeking a skilled Vocal Director for the Brockton High School Drama Club to lead vocal rehearsals and mentor student performers for the spring musical.

The candidate will teach vocal sections, distribute practice tracks, and coordinate with the production team to ensure a polished performance. Strong theatre vocal experience and effective communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong background in vocal music and musical theatre.
• Experience teaching and coaching student musicians (vocalists).
• Ability to teach vocal parts clearly and efficiently.
• Proficiency in creating rehearsal and practice tracks (preferred).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Collaborative and supportive teaching style.

Responsibilities

• Assist with auditions, including teaching vocal cuts, assessing vocal skills, and supporting casting decisions.
• Prepare and distribute vocal practice tracks for students (individual parts and ensemble as needed).
• Lead full ensemble vocal rehearsals, ensuring musical accuracy, blend, diction, and style.
• Provide individualized vocal instruction and coaching for solos, duets, trios, and small groups.
• Work with Director, Pit Director, and Choreographer to integrate vocals with staging and music.
• Teach vocals during April Vacation with Drama Director and acting rehearsals.
• Support vocal health, technique, and confidence in student performers.
• Conduct 3-4 rehearsals per week March through May.

The BHS Drama Club is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Vocal Director for our upcoming musical production. The ideal candidate will have strong musical theatre vocal experience and a passion for mentoring student performers while collaborating closely with the production team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with auditions, including teaching vocal cuts, assessing vocal skills, and supporting casting decisions
• Prepare and distribute vocal practice tracks for students (individual parts and ensemble as needed)
• Lead full ensemble vocal rehearsals, ensuring musical accuracy, blend, diction, and style
• Provide individualized vocal instruction and coaching for:
  • Solo numbers
  • Duets, trios, and small group songs
• Work collaboratively with the Director, Pit Director, and Choreographer to integrate vocals with staging and music
• Assist during April Vacation by teaching vocals alongside Drama Director with acting rehearsals
• Support vocal health, technique, and confidence in student performers
• 3-4 rehearsals per week March through May
